HP Smart Scanning is Currently Unavailable

I have an HP Envy 6000 series printer that I am using with a Windows 10 computer. I was trying to scan a document from my printer to my laptop. However, my HP smart app says scanning is currently unavailable. It was working fine last week. I can print and make copies from the printer, but HP smart won’t scan the document. I think something is wrong with my printer; that is why my HP smart scanner is not working. Can anyone tell me how to fix this “Scanning is currently unavailable” issue in HP smart App?

Why does HP smart app not scanning?

Restore the Wireless Connection

Firstly, we must reset the printer’s wireless connection because sometimes the printer is not connected correctly with the router.

  1. Restart the router and then the printer.
  2. Open HP Smart App, right-click on the printer, and click hide printer.
  3. Now add the printer again to HP Smart App.
  4. Once the printer is added to the HP Smart app, try Scanning.
  5. This will fix the Scanning issue in HP Smart App.

If it doesn’t work for you, go to the next step.

Reset HP Smart App

In this step, we will rest the HP smart app installed on our Windows 10 or 11 computer.

  1. Open Settings on Windows 10 or 11 computer.
  2. Go to Settings>Apps>Apps & features.
  3. Search for HP Smart.
  4. Select HP Smart, right-click, or click on three dots on the right-hand side.
  5. Select the advance option.
  6. Now go to the reset column and click Reset.
  7. This will rest the HP smart app, and now you can start scanning.

If it doesn’t work for you, go to the next step.

Uninstall and Reinstall the printer driver

It is the last step in which you have to uninstall the printer drivers from the control panel. And once it is done, install the latest driver for your HP printer. This step will fix the scanning is currently unavailable problem with HP smart app.
